This update contains the files necessary to upgrade FlightSim Commander v.8.5 to v.8.6. You must have version 8.5 properly installed in order to use these files.

If you have a version installed that is earlier than 8.5, you need to download and install the full version.

VERY IMPORTANT

You MUST run the Database Manager before using version 8.6. This version is NOT compatible with earlier versions of the program.

WHAT IS NEW?

DISTANCE AND TIME

Distance-to-go (DTG) as well as the remaining flight time (EET) and arrival time (ETA) are displayed both in the GPS Window (Arrival) and in the flight plan panel. The values are continuously updated.

TAXIWAYS

Apart from parking positions taxiways can also be selected for highlighting. This feature may be useful, if e.g. ATC assigns you specific taxiways to reach your gate or runway.

TAXIWAY AND RUNWAY DESIGNATORS

The color of taxiway and runway designators can be separately selected in the Option window.

AFIL AND ZZZZ FLIGHT PLANS

Apart from standard flight plans, you can also file AFIL and ZZZZ flight plans. For details see the manual or the help file.

SQUAWKBOX

If you save a flight plan in Squawkbox format, two files will be generated: one in the old format and one in the current format.

MAP

The map can be printed both in black-and-white and in color.

GPS WINDOW

The position of the GPS window will be saved in the ini-file when exiting the program and will be restored when the program is called again.

FONT SIZE

The Option Window allows the selection of three different font sizes: small, medium, and large.

FSUIPC

The currently used version of fsuipc is displayed in ABOUT–>FSC Team, if the program is connected to Flight Simulator.

DATABASE MANAGER

The Merge-feature in the Database Manager has been eliminated, because the user object file (userwp.udb) is automatically converted into ASCII format (userwp.txt) and can thus be edited by the user.
